Monitoring Online Presence
Monitoring your 'presence' is really just about taking a few minutes a week to stare down the web and tweak anything that needs it in order to be sure your pages and sites and listings are all doing their jobs.
Often times, the ever helpful Google will pull results which appear to the people who are searching for services to be spam..or replicas. It's our job in this category to ensure there is no 'spam' listing out there, that your grandmother's cardigans (bless her heart) are not currently linked to your business profile and that no one has hacked your Facebook page in order to list bit.ly links for questionable product ads.
Believe me. It happens.
I spend an inordinate amount of time staring at a computer screen every day anyway, so babysitting your online presence is definitely not something you should try to remember to do in between your morning coffee and that soggy sandwich at lunch. By the time you get around to it, everyone will already think your company sells Grandma's sweaters anyway.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing...especially if you DO sell her handiwork....but not if you happen to, say, have a hip, modern clothing business that caters to 20-somethings..
I expect my point has been made.
